OWC launches 2 adapters that support multiple screens via USB-C port
Other World Computing (OWC) announced two new products: the OWC USB-C Quad HDMI 4K adapter and a redesigned version of the OWC USB-C Dual HDMI 4K adapter.
Both devices are designed to allow users to expand their visual workspace by connecting multiple displays via a single USB-C, USB4, or Thunderbolt port on a Mac, PC, or Chromebook. The OWC USB-C Quad HDMI 4K Adapter, priced at $149.99, allows up to four 4K displays to be connected to a computer. The adapter uses DisplayLink Pro technology and is bus-powered via an integrated 11.8-inch USB-C cable. It also supports up to 90W of pass-through power when used with an external USB-C power adapter.
The redesigned OWC USB-C Dual HDMI 4K Adapter, priced at $69.99, lets you connect two 4K displays to your computer. The device is palm-sized and bus-powered via an integrated 9-inch USB-C cable. It’s geared toward everyday tasks, classrooms, and bring your own device (BYOD) environments.
Both adapters are designed to address the limited number of external displays on Apple Silicon laptops, especially the base models using M1, M2, M3, and M4 chips, which only support one external display. They support both Extended and Mirror modes, allowing audio signals to be transmitted via HDMI to connected displays.
According to OWC, both new adapters are now available. OWC also notes that the original OWC USB-C Dual HDMI 4K adapter with power pass-through will continue to be sold as a separate product.
