CORSAIR SABRE v2 PRO review - Ultralight hardware and software
The CORSAIR SABRE v2 PRO is not only ultra-light in the mouse itself, but also ultra-light in software with the CORSAIR Web Hub.
In recent years, the gaming mouse market has been in an “arms race” with the ultimate mission of eliminating every gram of weight. The current trend of gamers has shifted from heavy mice, integrated with many features and decorative RGB LED lights to minimalist and ultra-light designs. Many brands have improved and turned the weight under 60 grams into the gold standard for professional gaming mice. So what about CORSAIR?
In the ultra-light segment, CORSAIR has never been a pioneer. The latest representatives such as SCIMITAR ELITE WIRELESS SE , just launched at COMPUTEX 2025, focus on features and integration with Elgato Virtual Stream Deck. Previously, CORSAIR M75 AIR stopped at the threshold of 60 grams. The appearance of SABRE PRO (WIRELESS) was not enough for CORSAIR to step into the top, until SABRE v2 PRO officially launched at 9:00 p.m. on September 18, 2025.
The CORSAIR SABRE v2 PRO boasts some seriously impressive specs: 36 grams, 33,000 DPI MARKSMAN S optical sensor and 8000 Hz wireless polling. With the SABRE v2 PRO, CORSAIR is up against the gram competition, but it's not enough to be light on hardware alone. Launched alongside the SABRE v2 PRO is the CORSAIR Web Hub, which lets you fine-tune your mouse's functions without the need for iCUE, just a browser and an internet connection. So, with both aspects being as light as a feather, the CORSAIR SABRE v2 PRO and CORSAIR Web Hub are a groundbreaking combination that offers a whole new experience for professional gamers.

Symmetrical design
Going into details, the CORSAIR SABRE v2 PRO has a completely different design philosophy compared to its predecessor. Measuring 119.16(L) mm x 62.55(W) mm x 38.21(H) mm, the SABRE v2 PRO switches to a symmetrical form instead of the right-handed ergonomics of the previous SABRE PRO. The choice of a symmetrical form helps the product reach a larger market. While ergonomic designs are often optimized for palm grip and right-handed users, the symmetrical form is suitable for all three main grip styles (palm, claw and fingertip), which can be used by a wider range of gamers.
In terms of materials, to achieve a weight of 36 grams, the SABRE v2 PRO uses a thin plastic shell. This plastic shell is optimized to be lighter without creaking, even when you intentionally apply force. Keeping the closed shell design instead of following the perforated trend is a plus, helping to protect the internal components from dirt and providing a comfortable grip. CORSAIR also shows its concern for professional gamers through the included accessories such as anti-slip stickers (grip tape) and replacement UPE mouse feet, allowing users to customize the grip and glide feel according to personal preferences.
CORSAIR MARKSMAN S
At the heart of the SABRE v2 PRO is the CORSAIR MARKSMAN S optical sensor, with top-of-the-line specs: 100 to 33,000 DPI resolution, 750 IPS tracking speed and 50G acceleration. This is a significant improvement over the 26,000 DPI MARKSMAN (PixArt PAW3393) sensor on the SABRE PRO Wireless and the 18,000 DPI PMW3392 on the wired version.
CORSAIR equips the SABRE v2 PRO with custom-tuned tactile mechanical switches rated for up to 100 million clicks. This is a major upgrade from the previous generation's 50 million click Omron switches. A solid, responsive feel is essential in FPS games, while durability ensures long-term stability.
Hyper-Polling 8000 Hz
The CORSAIR SABRE v2 PRO supports a polling rate of up to 8000Hz on both wired and wireless modes, meaning it sends positional data to your computer 8000 times per second, reducing the theoretical latency to just 0.125ms. In theory, this polling rate results in smooth cursor movement and instantaneous feedback, which is especially useful when paired with high refresh rate monitors (above 144Hz). When you enable an 8000Hz polling rate with a latency of 0.125ms, you can't blame the device if you lose a match. In the past, with a low polling rate, you could say that the latency caused your shot to be inaccurate, but at 0.125ms, that latency simply doesn't happen.
Note that enabling the 8000 Hz polling rate also comes with a big trade-off in battery life: from 70 hours at 1000 Hz, that number drops dramatically to just 16 hours with 8000 Hz enabled. But at that super-fast mode and 16 hours of operation, it's more than enough to get you through a full day of gaming without worry.
CORSAIR Web Hub
One of the most welcome changes to the SABRE v2 PRO is the introduction of the CORSAIR Web Hub . This is a browser-based software solution that allows users to customize their mouse without installing any applications on their computer. This directly addresses one of the limitations of the CORSAIR ecosystem – the bloated and resource-intensive iCUE software.
The Web Hub provides all the necessary functions, from the need to reassign 5 buttons, customize 5 DPI levels, create and manage macros, as well as important device settings such as Polling Rate or sleep time. The web interface is simple and intuitive, focusing on what gamers really need.
The CORSAIR Web Hub, launched alongside the CORSAIR SABRE v2 PRO, is a perfect match for the product's ultra-lightweight design philosophy. The lightness is not just in the hardware (grams), but also in the software (no installation required, no system resources consumed). For gamers who are always looking to optimize every bit of PC performance, eliminating heavy background software is a clear advantage. CORSAIR has recognized that software weight is also an important factor. The Web Hub offers a truly lightweight and performance-focused experience.
Real-life experience
In a competitive environment, especially FPS games like Overwatch, Valorant, CS2 or Apex Legends, the experience of the 36 gram weight of the SABRE v2 PRO is truly different. This almost weightless lightness significantly reduces wrist and arm fatigue over long periods of time, while allowing for precise and agile mouse swipes while holding a sniper. The MARKSMAN S sensor combined with the 8000 Hz wireless connection gives a feeling of almost no perceptible delay between hand movement and the cursor on the screen, creating absolute confidence in stressful handling phases.
Thanks to its symmetrical design and medium size, the CORSAIR SABRE v2 PRO is extremely suitable for Migovi, as the writer is familiar with the claw grip style. In addition, the conventional and familiar design of the mouse body is an impressive point in an ultra-light mouse model. This allows any gamer, whether left-handed or right-handed, regardless of the mouse grip style, to get used to it immediately. After hours of intense gaming, Migovi attaches the mouse to the USB Type-C cable, switching to a wired connection to use and charge at the same time. For office work and web browsing, the SABRE v2 PRO offers great comfort thanks to its light weight.
The CORSAIR SABRE v2 PRO has only 5 buttons, no RGB lighting and an unergonomic shape that may be a turn-off for multi-taskers or MMO/MOBA gamers who need more macro buttons. The SABRE v2 PRO is not a multi-tool, it is a scalpel sharpened to a single purpose: winning FPS matches.
Conclude
If you are an FPS gamer or an eSports gamer that requires fast action and multiple actions in a row, the 36 gram weight of the CORSAIR SABRE v2 PRO is the answer. While it is already light on the physical side, you will be even more satisfied with the CORSAIR Web Hub, which is truly light on the customizable software side. The SABRE v2 PRO is a gaming mouse with excellent performance in the current ultra-light mouse market and the CORSAIR Web Hub is truly a commendable breakthrough.
